tl;dr I want to buy a new pair, looking for peoples experience and recommendations?

I have some old 5yrs plus Beats Pro, wrap round the ear, they were good, but battery life is naff now, left earphone connects, right doesn't every time.

Decided to upgrade, but no idea what's good... Not budget conscious if it's worth paying a premium...

Will use them for work calls, travel on flights, running/Crossfit - so sweat proof ideal too

what should I aim for?

I've a pair of jabra, I think they're the 75t. They work well with ms teams which can be picky so that might be important for you. The noise cancelling isn't anywhere as near as good as my Sony cans but they hold their own on that front as well as calls and music. I think they will do about 5 hours straight of calls so if you're skipping lunch you may have to switch for a bit. They do pick up a lot of wind noise if you're out and about so it's something I'd want to improve on next time. These are discontinued AFAIK so the new version may be better! I do recommend

I also have a pair of Sony mx1000 something cans which are incredible for sound but especially the noise cancelling on planes is brilliant. They're quite poor on the phone calls and conferencing they wouldn't work with teams. This is just to offer perspective. These wouldn't suit you. Get both smile

I have Sony MX3's in use every day in a very loud fabrication workshop they are excellent as is the battery life (apart from the odd top up a full charge will last 4x4 hour shifts and only takes about half an hour to charge. Wifey has the MX4's and they are slightly better. I was tempted to outdo her and get the latest MX5's but they've changed how they fold away which makes the bulkier in their case - and anyway my 3's are still going strong in harsh conditions after 5 years thumbup

I have the MX4s and use them all the time for everything, no issues with Teams calls despite not having a boom mic. My only complaint is they'll mute my work calls if someone calls my personal phone and I've forgotten to turn Bluetooth off on that because of the way the multi-device thing works.

I chose the MX4s over the MX5s as I don't like the way the new ones look.

When I bought my MX4s What HiFi said they were the best Bluetooth headphones at any budget...

Another vote for the Sony MX range. If you don't want to spend that money then look at the Anker ones, they have some pretty good offerings.

Awesome, tq! Read cover to cover, still no 'obvious' choice..
