Following a phone call today i was asked to do a survey 'press 1 for bad...5 for good' type of question

I was pressing the keypad but the question was being repeated as though there had not been any input, This happened on my old Samsung phone

Is it a fault, or can the keys be programmed to emit tones on surveys like this?

Most likely the supplier isn't picking up the DTMF tones you're sending, I wouldn't worry about it.
