Following a power spike taking out my development PC I've built a new one. Intel i9 13900KS, Aorus Z790 mobo, 64 GB DDR5 RAM. The power supply is 850W.
My old graphics card was a GeForce GTX 980 ti, which is toast so I need to replace it.
I need to run 3 monitors - main displays are a pair of Asus PB279s, I also feed to a Panasonic Plasma TV.
Not a big gamer but I do dip in to Hitman Freelancer from time to time.

An RTX 4090 would be the PH powerfully-built answer, but is overkill realistically. Also don't want to be paying 4 figures for a graphics card.

Was thinking about one of the older series cards like the 3060, but open to suggestions.

What else do you use your PC for?
Core i9 seems overkill for just web browsing on 3 screens smile

I found the 3070 to be the sweet spot price/performance wise - but I'm a gamer. Even a 3070 woudl be mostly "wasted" on you. So yeah, 3060, 3070, something like that - at least you have some flexibility if you do decide to game a bit more.

You can get a 3070 for around £400 (3060 about £70 less), I'm finding it a beast of a card. I play at 2k. Multi monitor work stuff won't make even the most basic card break into a sweat.

Cheers. Have you got any links for a 3070 at £400? I usually shop at Scan and Overclockers and they are coming in at 500+

My bad - the one in the shopping results was ebay "used grade A" - looked like new. Yeah, £489 seems ot be the Scan price.

I Bought a secondhand Vega64 off eBay for £150 which would cover your requirements - I use it in an eGPU to run 1 5K and 2 4K screens off my MacBook

But any 3xxx is going to be more than fine (and more complimentary to your spec)

Have ordered an RTX 3050, £270 on Scan. Supports 4 monitors, and should allow me to play Hitman at a decent resolution and refresh.

That's my weekend sorted then. smokin

Thanks chaps.
