Have upgraded my pone, as a rsult i have a rerasonable Galaxy S9.

I would like to use this to transfer my grandsons ST account, from my new phone to the old one and give him a new email address so that when we get a ticket for a football game the club can upload the QR code onto the old phone..
So the question is, most of the sim only deals appear to be monthly payments.
I am looking for a sim card that i can put ,say 5.00, and it will remain on the phone until the balance gets 'critical, and then top it up again.

Any sim providers do this?

OK, didn't get whatever you're at with the grandson - ST, QR codes, football, dunno. However,

Most providers still have Pay As You Go options available, eg,

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/best-sim-only-de...
https://www.three.co.uk/Support/Free_SIM/Order
and so on.

Odds are that a cheap monthly contract would work out cheaper though. Better value too - £4-5 a month gets several GB of data, unlimited calls and texts.

edit - reading that, you may not even want a SIM in the phone? Emails would work just fine over wifi without a SIM installed.

shtu, apologies for the 'shorthand'

here is the situation

i am a season ticket holder at Spurs. the match ticket is sent as a QR code whichvis scanned atcthecturnstile

this is sent by email from the club

my grandson has the same contact details as me and as the system cannot send 2 QR tickets to the same enail address. i want to get him a sim that doesnt need a monthly contract. which mist appear to do. not interested in data use at all. just want to out a sim in my old phone.and update his setails with his own email and phone number, again as the club system cannot cope with 2 membership numbers with the same contact details....so i need a sim card that ucan put tge munimum amiuntvon abd that diesnt run out after 30 days, sobi hVecto out another tvorx10 quid on it nir dobi wantvir need a sim monthly cobtract forvtge samecreasons . i know you could get up front no expiry cobditions.. just top it uo as and when..

Why bother with a sim?

Why not just connect via WiFi to download the email with the qr code prior to leaving for the game?

Doesn't even need the second phone. Just add a second email address for receiving the QR code to whatever email app you use on the phone. Or access webmail via your browser.
