Have upgraded my pone, as a rsult i have a rerasonable Galaxy S9.
I would like to use this to transfer my grandsons ST account, from my new phone to the old one and give him a new email address so that when we get a ticket for a football game the club can upload the QR code onto the old phone..
So the question is, most of the sim only deals appear to be monthly payments.
I am looking for a sim card that i can put ,say 5.00, and it will remain on the phone until the balance gets 'critical, and then top it up again.
Any sim providers do this?

OK, didn't get whatever you're at with the grandson - ST, QR codes, football, dunno. However,
Most providers still have Pay As You Go options available, eg,
https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/best-sim-only-de...
https://www.three.co.uk/Support/Free_SIM/Order
and so on.
Odds are that a cheap monthly contract would work out cheaper though. Better value too - £4-5 a month gets several GB of data, unlimited calls and texts.

edit - reading that, you may not even want a SIM in the phone? Emails would work just fine over wifi without a SIM installed.
