As per the title, our Canon Pima MG4250 is telling us the waste oil tank is nearly full-Contact your nearest Service Centre.
Done a google, but can't find anything on how to empty this tank, only cleaning the ink pads, which has nothing to do with emptying the tank.
Cost of returning the printer to Canon for repair not really worth it.
When it stops printing I'll have a DIY attempt to fix, and if unsuccessful it will go to the skips.
Anyone managed to empty the waster ink tank?

Couldn't see any reference to a waste ink tank on these, so I assume the message refers to the waste ink pads that these have.

The cheapest way is to replace these pads and use a reset tool (or a reset combo if you can find one).

Otherwise, there are solutions such as the PrinterPotty to stop this ever happening again, but the cost and inconvenience of fitting it might mean it's cheaper & simpler to buy a new printer.

Yes its an Absorber nearly full warning-my mistake for not reading this simple message correctly.

Anyway I've cleaned the absorbers-good as new. Looks now like I have to try and find some software to try and reset the counter. Some downloads Ive found look a bit dodgy though.

Thanks for keeping me right regarding the waste oil tank.

This might be worth a try, no software download required

All sorted, thanks for suggestions.
Needed to use an old laptop ( just in case any nasties in software download) and used some service software to reset the printer eprom.
