Imoo Z1 kids smartwatch - keeps disconnecting from Network

Hi all
We bought our child one of the above smartwatches to see where they are on the way home and call/text occasionally.
However it keeps disconnecting... Probably 50% of the time which completely defies the point of them wearing it.
Initially we had an EE sim in there but whilst text and voice calls worked, nothing else did, no data etc for tracking. We now have Vodafone and its better but still pony.
Anyone else had this and any solutions?
