Discussion
now im old and not down with the kids so excuse me for asking..
android phone and a bose bluetooth speaker , i get it connected and working , say if i need to take the phone away in the garden or going out upon returning should the speaker play again when i hit play on my music ? because its not , i have to to go to settings forget device , look for devices and go through it all again
am i doing something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, it should reconnect.
That said, I have a Bose micro bluetooth speaker and somethimes this does the same. I find that if I just switch the speaker off and on again it reconnects, and is quicker than faffing with the phone settings.

The quality of the bluetooth stack implementation does vary quite a lot between android devices and that does affect how well they connect, disconnect and maintain connections with various other devices as well as quality of data transfer. Unfortunately it's not simply a case of paying more for better. Some expensive phones turn out to be quite problematic.
