Having to enter Apple ID password every week

Is anyone else getting this since the last iOS update? I’m getting it weekly on both my iPhone and iPad.

Not had any issues on any of mine. What is causing the prompt, the OS and its integration with iCloud or when you install/update an app?

I’m getting this too. I tried googling for a solution but didn’t find anything helpful.

It doesn’t seem obviously linked to any particular action, I just notice a red icon on the settings app. When I go in it wants me to enter my password.

Yes, this is exactly what I’m getting. Everything seems to be working OK, but that 1 in a red circle bugs me every week.

Well, I'm a bit stuffed as I always use Face-Id on my iPhone, I tried the three codes that I thought it might be (i.e one of them is the same as my iPad but it said that was wrong), I got this phone over 2 years ago and don't remember ever setting a passcode but I suppose I must have but now have no idea what it might be!

Update: After searching for a solution on the web I found that 123456 worked, don't know why though so I guess it must be some sort of default. On further searching one suggestion was that an expired Apple Pay credit card can cause this problem, I did indeed have an expired card and have now updated that, will see what happens..
