Samsung S22 battery drainage

2 months back I got the Samsung S22 and noticed that the battery drainage is very high when i go abroad (hence in roaming) ,even without any calls apart from a few youtube videos it drains very fast,infact even without any usage after a full charge if i check it in 1 hrs it will be say 95% charge left on it!,However but not the case when in the UK and battery seems to hold ok,this was a UK bought phone on an 02 contract
Any idea why?

It took several months for the battery usage to settle on my S22, at first it was many times worse than my five year old OnePlus5 that it replaced, and i thought i'd made a massive mistake. I dont exactly know how it improved itself but it can hold two days charge at light use now.

I do cut permissions for using data back to 'only while using app' as much as possible though, which may help. The reason i mention that is it took quite a long tine to get my preferred setup sorted out as well. I kept finding settings reset and all sorts, felt like the bloody thing was gaslighting me! Its again better now, but i still find OneUI very intrusive, always asking to recheck app settings and closing apps itself, whereas the OnePlus OS was a joy to use. I dont know if i'd have another samsung.

Does the roaming location have 5G and the UK location use mostly 4G?

5G uses more power than 4G.
