I believe that the OE battery was rated as 1,821mAh.

Some aftermarket sellers are advertising capacities up to 3,800mAh!

Sounds fishy. Anyone with recent experience?

These are all bs. Lots of youtube videos about these batteries.

If Apple could fit that sort of capacity in the same space, and have it run reliably, they would have.

My Mrs got an aftermarket battery, that started bulging and took out her phone screen within a few months.

There is so much fakery out there, you really need to go to a trusted source. I would just use Apple’s official battery replacement program.

Yep, all nonsense. Only use Apple replacement battery - it's not that expensive anyway.

Also about 10 years ago, when phones had snap off backs and you could change the batteries yourself, I experimented with 5 different cells.

The only one that performed as well as the original fit battery was made by Anker.

All the rest of them were literally garbage. One lasted 3 charges, just went dead. Another went for 3 months, was sort of OK and then would last 1 hour, as good as dead. Some you could peel back the sticker and see the original sticker underneath having a third of the advertised rating.

Avoid at all costs.
