Anyone else on here have a OnePlus phone?

Not only am I stuck on Android 12, I haven't had any Android security updates since I setup the phone.

I've been in contact with OnePlus through email and live chat. They offered suggestions like a factory reset and resetting the data of updates. None of their advice has worked and now they are failing to respond.

Looking at the OnePlus community forums receiving zero updates looks to be a real problem. There are lots of complaints. Owners are using a third party app to download and install Android 13 and the latest security patches.

I don't want to download and install software using the third party app.

Anyone else having the same issues? Any resolution to the problem?

Not noticed, but only had my 10Pro for about 4 months so there could be one due soon. My 7Pro failed after 3 years when still on Oxygen/Android 11 but used to regularly receive updates. Shame none of them ever fixed the often complained about bugs on the forum such as poor wifi reliability (still can;t believe I went for another OnePlus after that turd, but then my 3 was absolutely superb).

The 10 Pro 5G purchased directly from OnePlus.

Check your last Android security update and see what date you have. I am August the 5th.

This is my first OnePlus. It will also be my last. I should have sent it back for a refund within the 30 days. Ignoring the lack of security and support, the phone isn't anywhere near as good as the reviews.

Oneplus were great when they were cheap and had a quirky feel. Now they are too expensive for the poor support they offer, don't blame you for looking elsewhere.

The security updates and lack of ownership of them from brands is why a lot of people are going to the Pixel range for a more apple like experience.

I've had a few, had the 1 and the 2 then skipped a few, had the 7 Pro then went back to Google. Always liked them but I agree they started getting expensive from the 8 on and made less sense. Never had an issue with updates or security though.

Yeah I've got a Nord 2 5G, previously had the One, 7T and another I've forgotten inbetween.

The hardware is nice but the software is buggy as hell. The support guys said to reboot in safe mode, sent me instructions to use buttons which simply do not exist any more in the current OS version. I asked for how to do it on the new version and they ghosted me.

Anyway long story short, I've had to factory reset twice now in the last 3 months to fix bugs which manifested after OS updates. They talk about factory resets so casually but it's a major PITA.

I'll be going back to Samsung or trying one of the cheap Google Pixel variants.

I was the same, wouldn't buy one again.

Luckily I managed to sell mine to one of the online phone buying sites and got back most of what I paid as it was still their latest one at the time.

This is disappointing, I have a OnePlus 8T that I really like and would consider another OnePlus when it comes time to replace this, but maybe not now..

I've a OnePlus 8T that I bought refurbished three months ago. It replaces a 5T that I had for six or seven years.

I was appalled by the battery life of the new phone until I discovered the "app" that was draining it - Quick Device Connect or something - but it comes back whenever the phone is restarted so I have to tell the phone I don't want to use it. It's something to do with the phone always searching for other devices and it was making the phone very hot.

Other than that the phone has been good, but agreeing with others on here that I'll unlikely buy another OnePlus phone (despite the warp charging) and I'll go with one of the other brands - whichever one my techy mate is using at the time!

I don't think I've had an update in the time I've had the 8T - not sure if that's a problem or not though.

OnePlus 6T is the greatest phone I ever had. I was gutted when I dropped it and it smashed beyond repair.

I've got a OnePlus 8 Pro now which is OK. I am looking to upgrade soon for several reasons. I'm torn between:

OnePlus 11 which is available for £799 including headphones I think
or
Google Pixel latest model

There are others, like the Oppo which looks ok and people say the Xiaomi devices are good too

I had a OnePlus 7T then went iPhone 13 mini because they were into the same price bracket and I've a load of other Apple kit so it seemed sensible.

Have to say I preferred the OnePlus. Wish they'd kept their price inflation under control though.

That is a common complaint of recent times. I agree, one of their big advantages were their very reasonable pricing. They're still better priced than other flagship models but no where near as good value.

I've just changed from OnePlus 3 to a 6T & really miss the little notification LED which I found very useful. Does anyone know of a phone that has a similar LED? I had mine set to flash different colours for notifications from SMS, Telegram, Teams etc.

I also miss the notification LED - my last phone (Wiley Fox Swift 2X) had one. It seems very few phones feature them now.

If I have any notifications, I notice that my 6T will activate the screen every time it's moved though.
