Ive had an email with an attachment that says 'documents signed ( the the first half of my email address) '
Obviously I want to know what bloody document, but I dont want to open the file either as I recognize who its from, What to do?

I suppose you need to ask yourself a few questions?

Am I expecting a signed document?

Do I recognise the domain the email originates from? (likely to be Xerox or similar, but Google it)

Is there anything else recognisable about the email?

hotmail.co.uk with something like that is almost 100% spam / scam.

I wouldn't have replied, as now you have confirmed your email address is active, which means the spam / scams will really ramp up now.

And don’t believe the “from” address as it’s very easy to spoof that, so even if it comes thru from a friend there is no guarantee it’s come from them. There are ways of looking at the email ‘path’ thru the internet that will reveal the original sender but it’s not particularly easy to access
