Twin monitor arms
Discussion
Anyone have any recommendations for twin monitor arms?
I've just bought 2 dell 4k 27" monitors and need to set them up on my desk.
I'm making the top, so can make it as wide/thick as necessary.
Would prefer not to hose cash at it unnecessarily if decent budget versions are available.
Thanks

I've had this one from Amazon for 3 years now.

Hasn't fallen over (has 2 x 24" monitors fitted) and still doing the job nicely for £30. Had to tweak how the clamp works as the back of my desk has quite a deep horizontal bar, so out of the box it wouldn't reach the underside of the desk.

I've got the Amazon Basics one

Got 2x 24" screens on it but it's rated up to 27". Seems very sturdy and reasonably priced. Amazon Basics gear i use quite often and seems reliable.

I’ve got the same one and it was perfectly good when I used it.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N64KJ9W

Upgraded to an ultra widescreen so the arm and the two monitors are gathering dust. Really must sell them!

I had the basic clamp style arms from Amazon and they got really annoying if I wanted to adjust it at all and the clamps felt they were dipping.
The Invision arms are so much better and make it really easy to position the monitor where you want it and feel much more secure.
Quick delivery too direct from the company and avoids using Amazon.

Two individual ergotron LX arms on long poles will offer the most flexibility.
Not sure how you will set up your monitors? Definitely get a long pole if you want to spin your monitors vertically or have a sit / stand desk. Long pole will also accomodate bigger monitor sizes should you wish to upgrade in the future.
My Ergotron LX on a long pole works as well as new, it is 9 years old now and adjusted everyday. You pay upfront, but its really durable.

I think I have the same one and happy with it. While it's fine for 2 x 24" monitors it might be pushing it for 2 x 27" despite what they claim. I've also had a couple of the ones that have a gas ram (cheap versions) and it was poor. Wouldn't stay where it was moved too and hard to get monitors to line up I was hoping they'd be easier to move around and pull forward when needed but I gave them away I the end. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N64KJ9W

I'm currently in Saudi for a few weeks in the 'picturesque' town of Al Khobar, so will let you know how the arms go when I get back - went for these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09CQCYH75?psc=1&r... Invision mX400 19-32inch version.
Hopefully they'll work, monitors are 27" and about 4-5kg each, so should do...

I use 3 ergotron LX's as well, each with a 32" screen. They are incredibly well put together. They do a range of fittings if you want two monitors on one arm for example. Not cheap but I expect I'll still be using them in 30 years time. Not sure how you will set up your monitors? A quick test and they work fine, I've not built the desk yet so had to use the kitchen worktop. This was, understandably, not appreciated, so I had to take them down fairly quickly Hopefully they'll work, monitors are 27" and about 4-5kg each, so should do...
And if anyone is ever going to Al Khobar - bring something to do as there's not a lot there.
