As the title really, I am hoping others on here have gone through the CityFibre build process and maybe signed up with one of their partners.

Long story short just being on standard broadband (can’t have FTTC) I am keen to sign up with CF. A few weeks ago their network was built along the end of the road into our small estate of 25 houses.

Today I received an email stating:

“ We have great news! We're pleased to tell you that we've started planning how we're going to bring it to your area.

We'll be in touch again with more details, so keep a look out for our email. In the meantime, you can learn more about CityFibre on our website. “

Anybody know approximately how long the planning stage will take before we can sign up for this please?

I think for a lot of houses in my road it was available within 4 months (CityFibre already had Vodafone as a partner). In my case it kept showing as un-available because I have a longish driver where the first 5m are shared with my neighbour. Eventually Vodafone/Cityfibre wised up and the service was installed last March.

The service itself is fabulous and has been 100% reliable. I had some initial teething problems with company Vodafone used to install the last part of the cable (they didn't bury it deep enough and had to return 4 times).

Contact some of their retailers and see if they can offer service yet. Where I am the fibre installation was done in mid March and I managed to get retail service in mid July.

They've halted City Fibre around here due to the incompetence of the contractors doing the work. Not entirely sure why they were even putting it in, we've already got FTTP, assume for more capacity? No idea when it will restart.
