in short: if i change a user account from tom@company.com to jerry@company.com, will jerry still be able to see tom's inbox history, or is it more complex than that?

old user left, new user needs to retain visibility of historic emails. i know next to nothing about IT, hence using workspace!

Yes, if all that changes are the user/display names and email address.

Personally I would create new and delegate access to the old mailbox.

That's what I'd do too. You can have 2 windows open simultaneously for those times when it's needed, but as time goes on that'll happen far less often.

thanks, that's what i was hoping to hear.

for the purpose, i think changing user is best, keeping the old address as an alias. the volume of mails isn't big enough to be a hassle or warrant a complete change.

Ok done, all emails retains and the alias tested.

Only now the saved files in the previous user's 'my drive' have now disappeared. any way to recover?
