Ive had it with injet. They cost a fortune. Can anyone recommend a good home office colour Laserjet. Max 250gbp.
Look at Brother printers as you can get compatible non-OEM toner which makes them much cheaper to run:https://www.brother.co.uk/printers/laser-printers/...
Ignore those prices - they are RRP & you will find better prices on line. You haven't said if you need a scanner so i've filtered for printers only.
Consider the HL-L8260CDW although it's a bit above your budget it come with 3000 page black & 1800 page colour toner cartridges. It's around £285 online:
https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/brother-hl-l...
The HL-l3270 is £248 with 100 page toner cartidges:
https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/brother-hl-l...
You can get a set of non-OEM toner for around £83 although this will vary depending on if there's a sale on:

Don't buy a model or brand which doesn't have compatible tomer available as they are expensive to run.
A full toner will typically last thousands of pages, it is far, far more cost effective than printing with ink. Worth noting when you buy a new printer they don't normally come with a full toner cartridge, but a partially filled one, which is why they run out so soon after purchase. Once you chuck a full one in you many never need to change it again under home use.

Actually the Brother ones do - see above. One of them even has 3000 page toner cartridges which is a really good start. nordboy said:
I've got a Brother HL 3150CDW, had it for quite a few years and it's been very good. Be prepared for the shock when the toner runs out mind you. I'm not sure what the newer version would be.
+1 for the Brother printersThird party toner packs very reasonable, £40 for a set
Glad this thread is recent as my trusty Samsung CLP-680 has just died with a probable solenoid error. Based on above and a previous thread I suspect I may go for:
https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/brother-hl-l...
or
https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/brother-hl-l...
assuming it will fit the space it will sit in/on. There is another between the two but it has a control panel which sticks out on the side where my wall is (and I can't turn the printer round or side on).
Any other trusted resellers I should look at ?
(edit - if anyone has the same model of Samsung as me (or uses the same cartridges) I have a sealed 3rd party Black cartridge spare (plus my colour ones and relatively full, but they might be an issue to send on).

I'd be cautious about using Printerland - we placed an order last week, for a printer/scanner (Brother DCP-L3550CDW) which they showed as having plenty in stock.
This morning, they phoned our home number and told my Missus that they "didn't recommend the machine, as it was 'heavy' on toner"; they tried to sell her something else instead and but she said that they should speak to me.
When I phoned them back, they told me it was out of stock and tried to fob me off with another brand and model.
My refund is now in process and I'll be getting the device that I want from Argos.

The second one is £56 more expensive but is faster, has a 50 sheet multipupose tray and has 3000/1800 page toners which is probably worth it. It is physically bigger though. https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/brother-hl-l...

I had no real issues with Printerland although they did call me after I placed the order; I just said I wanted a printer that could take non-OEM toner & they agreed there wasn't much else on the market. I asked about the new Xerox machines & it seems they are made by Lexmark & only use Xerox toner. Even if the Brother is "heavy on toner" I only print a few pages a week so the cost per page is not a prime concern for me

This ^^^ was exactly why we wanted that specific make/model of printer . . . . . . . and of course, I'd read the very useful suggestions made on here. I didn't want to be persuaded into buying something that I hadn't thoroughly reviewed - imagine placing an order and paying for it and then the company says that we'd be better buying something else.
My order for a Brother DCP-L3550CDW has been placed with Argos and we'll collect it at the weekend.
Although the Brother DCP-L3550CDW now seems to be an end-of-range or clearance item, I take note that it uses exactly the same cartridges as printers that are still on sale costing hundreds of pounds more, so it should be easy to get toners.
I have a Xerox Phaser 6022 colour laser and you can buy compatible toner for £38 for 5: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LCL-Compatible-1Magenta1Y...
I find it cheaper to run than my old inkjet.

Plenty of choices for 3rd party toner, but the supplied ones last for ages anyway.
ETA - Small it isn't

Out of interest, are the 3rd party toners all much the same in terms of quality of output, or are there any suppliers that you recommend as being better than others ? (I'd be pleased to know of any that you recommend - thank you).

The problem is that's a discontinued model & I found it more difficult to find non-OEM toner for current models. .I find it cheaper to run than my old inkjet.

I'm using Toner Giant, seem fine. There are cheaper but in the past I've had problems with very cheap toners in a Samsung laser.Out of interest, are the 3rd party toners all much the same in terms of quality of output, or are there any suppliers that you recommend as being better than others ?
