Afternoon

Does anyone have a solution to the bug in Windows 10 in the area of Taskbar Behaviours, were the setting "Automatically hide the task bar" repeatedly unchecks itself. It's driving me up the wall.

I'm runnning a Win10 laptop and I sometimes use it at home with an external monitor and sometimes without on coffee shop detail. Adding / removing the external monitor is a guaranteed unchecking of this option so the taskbar is perpetually stuck on screen until I go into the settings. It's very tedious.

Any words of wisdom from the collective appreciated.

PS probably not up for reinstalling windows this week.

Seems like a long running issue, and this ticket is a bit of a debacle:

Have you updated your drivers, especially video drivers?

Thanks

I think so but always worth a check. Could you recommend a kosher Windows driver update software item? !

Are there any additional updates in Windows Updates? Might be some drivers and firmware updates available there.

I use Dell so stick with either that or their Dell Assist product for updating drivers. I've never really used a third-party one.

The bug I hate is where I set the Taskbar height at 3 steps high then Lock the Taskbar again.

Then every now & again when I boot in to Windows the Taskbar resets to default 1 step high & I have to go and change it again!

Infuriating I tell you!! biggrin
