Lady Dinger and I are not too tech savvy…..but need some advice from the masses.

Currently get our Wi-Fi indoors via a deal with 3 via a Huawei dongle E5783 B that they have just increased from £22.31 to £24.00 per month.

We only use this for e mails, Netflix , Prime and works fine most of the time. Also use it in the camper van when in the uk and abroad.

So…is there a better deal out there that comes with a better router / Mifi

Cheers guys

I would start by checking the signal in the area from the major providers, then see which one of those and the virtual networks they host have mobile broadband available.

How much data are you using?

MIFI router wise there isnt a huge leap in tech really that would benefit you - maybe a 5G MIFI router if you are in a 5G area?

If still stuck on 4G though there are plenty of SIMO deals with 20gb+ data from under £8/mth with little (1mth) to no contract.

Just done a simple test on our current 3 dongle and achieved 22.2 mbps down and 22.7 up
Via 3 . Have been told by people with better knowledge than me that 3 and EE are the best candidates……

Just would like to know of any deals or of any better dongles that could be had for less money

You need to seperate the dongle and the SIM.

As long as you're happy with the performance of the dongle, then cancel your current contract and then go for the best SIM only deal you can get.

If you want to improve the performance of the dongle, then try for a new router with an aerial.

Something like this will do;

I've used Smarty for years, sim only for the wifes phone and unlimited date sim in a mobile wifi box, not had any issues. I even used the unlimited sim at home for 2 months when BT cocked up a broadband switch on a new house, used a mass of data expecting them to contact me but heard nothing.

If you want EE ( full ee, not partial ) look at a 1 month rolling 1p mobile deal. The data pack deals are amazing and you won’t get better on the ee network.
Voxi also gets my vote for unlimited social and video as you progress but that is Vodafone.
As for the dongle, if it’s unlocked, keep it or upgrade to something like a Netgear 810. I have one and it’s faultless.
