Anyone know if I can order stuff off Amazon in France and have it delivered to an Amazon locker like you can in the UK?

I am in France for 6 weeks and already need a couple of things which are going to be easier to order online.

I just tried to log into Amazon.fr and it said it had sent a text to my mobile with a pin code but no text arrived, I dont want to risk messing up my account so I am leaving that alone for now.

Anyone done it? Is it even possible? Cheers!

Can't speak for France, but I have done similar in Germany. I didn't try to use my UK account, but set up a separate .de one. If you do this it might be worth using a separate email address as I know people who have had issues with Prime etc getting messed up.

We use our UK account to send items to Ireland, just add the overseas delivery address into the delivery options.

I have used Amazon in both Japan and the USA by making an account on the local service and seeing what options they have for delivery.

As a bonus, you usually get a month free on Prime, which helps.

Presumably you might have to pay additional delivery/postage costs as assume Prime only covers UK - never tried European delivery myself though.

If you order stuff from Amazon.fr for delivery to UK, you'll have to pay duty on it.

Likewise if you order on .co.uk for delivery to France

We haven’t been charged any extra costs since Brexit, I appreciate we may have been lucky and France is a different country (albeit both in the EU) but it may be worth looking into as an option. My mother-in-law is in a care home in Galway, we send clothes, books and small gifts.

Our address in France is just:

House number
Hamlet
Postcode

Amazon find us no problem

ETA, and we only got the house number about three years ago. Prior to that it was just Name, Hamlet, Postcode.

We have a Amazon.fr account for when we are in France. Try again with the account set up...

Using the UK one to deliver there has never worked well...

Presumably if your address is so remote there isn't any logical lockers to offer you? Perhaps search in the nearest town

Amazon has all the same delivery options in France as in the UK although the mix might be different so there are indeed lockers. If you can't find one locally you might have more luck with a pick up points. Lots of small cafes and newsagents offer this service. Be aware there are also a lot of limitations on what can be delivered to lockers, size and weight are obvious limitations but also hazmat items are blocked

Thats what I tried I tried to use an address in the local town (as there is a locker there) and it just gave me the address as the option not possible to the locker.

Like you say might be the item is too big or something so just plugged the real address in and went for it, I will see what happens with this first order.

This. Lockers are few and far between outside the major cities but there are points relais (PUDO / Pick-Up/Drop-Off points) in small and large businesses all over the place. Mondial Relay has a huge network in France, as well as some lockers that are in different locations to the Amazon ones. I just tried on amazon.fr and was able to choose a Mondial Relay PUDO (shown in the list as "MR -") nearby. You'll probably have to show ID to pick items up

Just to update package arrived on Friday, arrived with regular post. Other than a week for delivery it was all good.

I have had Amazon.fr stuff delivered to a local locker, or direct to the house. Both seemed to work fine.

I've ordered from .de, .it and .com all from my regular Amazon account. It's a change in the country settings.

Same here. I've used the lockers at the nearest E.Leclerc for larger items when I know I'll be out and smaller stuff straight to the post box.
