I have an issue with my phone and it's driving me bonkers so hope someone on here can advise me what to try to resolve it.
I bought an LG Velvet off eBay USA, arrived all good works lovely but, it does not make phone calls, I can make and receive WhatsApp calls but cannot make or receive phone calls. Oddly, this only happens in the UK, abroad it works fine like a normal phone. Most of my calls to mates are via WhatsApp so not a huge issue but I still need to.make calls now and again.
I'm on Giffgaff PAYG if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If the phone was supplied to the US market originally then it may not work on the frequencies used by giffgaff (O2?) in the UK. Other European networks may operate on different frequencies which are fine for the phone.
Not sure if this is the issue with your phone, could search the radio frequencies for the phone model and compare with giffgaff (O2?) frequencies.
A quick search via Google shows that :
Giffgaff uses the 800MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2300MHz bands for 4G.

It looks like the USA version of the Velvet doesn't support the 5G frequencies that the UK networks use.

Doesn't explain why your handset wouldn't drop back to 4G to make voice calls though, maybe it's set to use a specific band?
See if https://www.helpforsmartphone.com/public/en/lg/vel... helps.
