My foreatick remote stopped working this week. It flashes a yellow light when I use it and does nothing to control the fire stick.
Tried new batteries (twice) and the unpairing and repairing procedure. Still no good.
Ordered a new remote from Amazon, this remote doesn’t even flash a light when I press a button so I think it’s possibly faulty?
Currently using the tv remote to control but it’s very slow.

Anyone any idea of what the problem could be before I order another remote to try?

No ideas on the problem with your remote, but you can control the Firestick with your smartphone via the Fire TV app. smile

It's what I have to do when the batteries in my remote are low ...

might just need to re-pair the remote to the firestick..

As suggested earlier, the remote is not paired. I have had to run through the pairing process multiple times until it works.

Also, I have never had a remote that flashes, and I have 5+ fire TV products, so your replacement may also just need to be paired.

I’ve tried the pairing procedure at least 5 times now and still no joy

Not all firestick remotes will work with certain firesticks

Here's how you fix this:
1. Put the Fire Stick in the bin.
2. Buy an Apple TV.
