No audio over cat 6a via blustream
Discussion
Not an expert in these systems however it would be useful to know the specific matrix & receiver devices in use.
As I understand these systems while using ethernet cat cables do not use encapsulate the hdmi to ip traffic they simply utilise the cable.
This means the signal can’t be passed via any ip switching/routing devices, the fact your getting video covers that aspect.
I’d then try to do some testing to try & isolate what component(s) are at fault.
I believe it could be the matrix device either hdmi inputs or the output section & either hw or config.
It could be the receiver unit or the cable cat6 in between.
How long are your cable runs, are they in spec?
I’d do a methodical test to try & isolate the issue
I’d test the hdmi inputs by using a known good source & port & feed that to the failing end point.
I also do the reverse & test the hdmi input that failed to provide audio by passing that to the endpoint that was previously working.
If the situation stays the same the hdmi inputs to the matrix are likely okay, if the issue moves with the inputs then it’s likely either the source or hdmi inputs on the matrix.
Next I’d try swapping over the working & non working output ports, if it moves it’s likely the port, this like the issue above could be hw or config but points you in a direction, if stays the same it’s likely up the chain so receiver or cable.
Then I’d try a similar test but with the receiver boxes & swap over a working & suspect one, if the fault moves it’s likely the receiver, if it doesn’t then I’d look at cables.
To test the cables I’d use a program called iperf3, it’s like speed test but you your home network, you put a computer with an ethernet connection at each end of the cable run & test in both send & receive mode & look at the speeds for the suspect cable run, I’d then test the known working run comparing results between the two.
