My son has gone through a handful of these during warranty period.

Unfortunately the last one ran out of warranty and paid £65 via Microsoft for a replacement

Low and behold just over 3 months same issue.

Can some tell me is it an easy fix , how and what tools I need please? Prefer ordering Amazon for ease.

There will be guides on youtube if you take a look. What exactly is the issue? Sticky bumper or something else?

I think sticky bumpers RB etc
It doesn’t bounce back up or slow to respond

It's the microswitches I think - they tend to go a lot on those. you can buy replacement switches for them and fix yourself if handy.

I looked at doing this, but then gave up before ordering etc... Seemed a lot of faff for not a huge benefit - went Series 2 Elite and those seem a lot better constructed.

You'll be replacing them every so often and the likelihood is that the switches you buy will be fairly low quality ones anyway...

ETA Or it might be the plastic of the button assembly itself...

How do I tell if it’s elite or series 2?

What does it look like? Google is your friend for this or post a pic

Actually it may well be a Series 2 one if it's fairly new..

I think the plastic button or part of it broke on ours.. That was the Series 1.. The Series 2 seems a bit tougher.

Worth checking the MS site for replacement, my Series 2 RB bumper failed out of warranty and they done a replacement for a reduced price and I bodged a repair on the failed one. Not a perfect fix but OK for a spare.

the replacement was jus the controller so I ordered a repair kit that came with sticks etc.

That’s what we did
But the paid replacement is now broken
So we too have a spare to try and fix
