Amazon Business Account

First two apologies, I'm a bit of an Amazon luddite and I'm not entirely sure if this is the correct forum for the question...

I've been an Amazon Business account for a while now, however I generally used it for everything including personal buying-I just used my own bank card rather than the businesses. The next day Prime delivery is the main benefit.

However I've started noticing a lot of stuff is not available to buy via Amazon Business now. Just for instance, whisky being one, items supplied outside of the UK being another.

Can I swap the account to a personal one to get around this? Presumably I can still get VAT invoices on a personal account for things I do buy for the business?

Yes, VAT invoices available for all purchases. Mine is a personal prime account, but 90% used for business stuff. I fail to see any benefit to Amazon Business.

Is there a simple way to switch accounts then, or does it involve essentially deleting the business one and re-registering for regular Amazon Prime?

Delete your account, it will revert to a normal personal account, will not delete everything so you’ll keep your order history etc.

I did it recently, was a tad nervous as I have Prime & didn’t want to lose my order history, wish list etc but it worked perfectly!

Oh that's interesting as when I click on delete account it specifically says everything will be deleted! I'm not sure I really need everything as everything is stored in the company accounts but of course that only covers business purchases-I don't bother with private buys.

I confirmed with their Customer Services 1st, still a big ‘gulp’ moment when I clicked delete though!

The frequently available discount vouchers on products dont work on the business account in my experience, they look like they apply, but the discount doesnt come off at checkout. I just use the personal account then go into your orders one a month and prin off all the invoices.
There are lots of vouchers for the things i buy so its worthwhile.
