I have acquired a new Apple TV 4K 2022.

Is there any way to integrate or get better use out of it with my existing Sky Q Box and its bundled in apps such as Prime, Netflix etc without swapping HDMI imputs. By that I mean I have a seperate HDMI cable from each to my telly, but if I am using the Apple box, I need to then faff with the TV remote to swap inputs to the Sky Q suite of channels etc, meaning 3 remotes.

HDMI CEC so that when a device turns on it triggers the tv and the relevant HDMI channel

or

HDMI auto switcher

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fosmon-HD8061-Automatic-S...

downside is all your settings will be applied to both devices as they are on the same channel which will may gimp the much better PQ of apple TV and its apps

I use the first option with my FireStick and it works great. I have a picture profile for each HDMI input as my Q box is one of the originals without HDR so I use all the apps on the FireStick for the better PQ.

Ah, yes, it was me! But it’s sorted now- well almost. Only issue now is that when leaving ATV to resume Sky Q box turns off the sound bar and reverts back to telly speakers. Then my wife has to ferret round for the sound bar remote. First world problems!🤷

Oh, and my home media files can only be accessed via the computer app rather than the ATV app.

Phew I thought I'd dreamt it. I was going to ask the model of your Sony soundbar and does it really only have one HDMI socket?

Edit: and TV model.

Telly is a 55JL9100, a John Lewis iteration of an LG TV.

Soundbar (2017 vintage) has just one HDMI output. Optical lead connects from Sky Q to telly.

Enjoy! smile
