That is a really good link.https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/196278-what-can...
Several decades ago - I bought a telescope ( living in the middle of nowhere with no light pollution ) - and the stars were amazing. Bought a telescope with a small expectation that I could see wonders.
It was exactly like that post describes.

TBH with a Celestron 130 I'd expect that. Several decades ago - I bought a telescope ( living in the middle of nowhere with no light pollution ) - and the stars were amazing. Bought a telescope with a small expectation that I could see wonders.

It's tbh a better option than binoculars that shake a lot.
Missed one on gumtree yesterday that was 90 quid and barely used so I think I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Just had a little go at the moon when some cloud cover had gone.
It was a bit tougher than I thought but nice so far.
Reading about collimate and wondering if this thing needs it.
Cheap enough to check out but unless it's really out I wouldn't worry too much...can be more hassle than it's worth at times It was a bit tougher than I thought but nice so far.

Went out last night with it, I concur...it's a faff if you don't know how to get the mount working.
The moon was found first night by moving it about but last night absolutely chaff all I've just been moving it about too much when searching I think and it's become unaligned.
Do you stand up with a Celestron or sit down? Im finding the process of looking in comfortably most bloody annoying tbh.
