My first vlogging kit should be?
Discussion
I'm going to start doing this from home. I know I need a decent light (fairly low cost), decent mic (also fairly low cost) and a decent camera....which is the bit I am stuck on.
I've bored myself to death on the web looking at cameras. I know it should have 1080p resolution and a mic port and a flip out screen and that's all I need but cameras all seem to be £400 which seems a lot for my basic needs and who knows if I'll do one or lots.
Can anyone help with a recommendation?

What have you got? You can probably start with your phone, maybe add a cheap wired lav mic.
It's really easy to think you can throw money at these sorts of problems and it'll give you the answer but the reality is that the kit isn't a significant factor in what makes a good video versus a bad one.

Maybe it's not all about "the likes" but the act itself of voicing thoughts and opinions.... not posted on social media?

Maybe they've invented a person reacts to a person reacting to a video niche.
How stupid will you feel if they have.

Modern iphone and a clip on mic will be plenty to get you up and running.
GoPros work well as well depending on what the topic / type of shot is.
I have Galaxy Fold 3 and did consider that as the camera are more than good enough I think. I just wasn't sure how a mic attaches to it. I think with the phone, mic and a light I should be good to go.GoPros work well as well depending on what the topic / type of shot is.
Think this should do?

Have you considered something like this? https://rode.com/en/microphones/mobile/vlogger-kit...
I think Rode are held in high regard when it comes to microphone quality.

More practically, look at the Rode Wireless go as a cheap and cheerful mic solution. Beyond that, the Song ZV-1 plus grip is aimed at vlogging and has several shortcuts to what would be more advanced techniques (‘background blur’ button etc). But an iPhone will be fine to start you off.
Most important thing is lighting and sound so either a well lit room or a light panel is a must.
Also, what will you edit on?
