Trying to get some images from Whatsapp on to my laptop. Can't see any way to send to another App just between WhatsApp contacts?

Save the image onto your phone and then either transfer or attach to an email. Or try WhatsApp Web which puts your WhatsApp on your laptop.

Install the WhatsApp desktop version on your laptop, start it up and scan the barcode with your phone's whatsapp and it'll link them and you can save the images on the desktop one.

Windows Store, Whatsapp - https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/whatsapp/9...

Open the conversation, go to settings, there should be "export conversation", it'll ask if you want to attach images, choose ok. And then email them to yourself.

Or just plug a USB cable between your phone and laptop and copy-paste.

I regularly do this to transfer photos from WhatsApp on my phone to enable storage and/or editing. I just drag them into a folder.

You might need to enable file transfer when you plug the cable in though. Otherwise the file system won't show on your laptop.

It should be an option once you connect the cable and the phone detects the laptop.

What type of phone?

On my Android device I can find the folder where WhatsApp stores images (using the file finder) and copy/transfer them as required.

I'm old so probably an arse-about-face way of doing it....

Go to 'share' via email (Gmail for me), but then exit so it saves as a draft email. Open same email on computer browser, go to drafts and there it is as an attachment.

Just browse to whatsapp on the web and right click?

All my Whatsapp images are saved to the camera roll (enable in whatsapp settings).

If I want any images on another device, I then save them from the camera roll to One Drive.

This is using iPhone, but I would imagine it’s exactly the same on Android.

Pixel 6 Pro.

The "save as" seems to work although I have to save them one at a time. Will try the other suggestions too to see if there is a quicker way and/or multiple pics at once.

As above just do the desktop and login using the barcode scanner on your phone app.

That's the easiest way. I use thunderbird for email and have whatsapp as an addon.

Correct. Google Photos > Library > WhatsApp Images. You can then sync/save to Google Drive or copy the pic to Google Photos to open on the laptop thorugh the browser.

There is also a 'WhatsApp Videos' folder there too with - unsurprisingly - videos from WhatsApp.

Save them into your gallery (Android user here) then they can be uploaded to your Google cloud
