Thunderbird seems to have recently updated itself on my computer, to 102.5.0

It has started periodically putting a dialog up asking for a password to my Google account. If I give the correct password, the dialog simply re-asserts itself immediately.

Any ideas what the issue is, and how to fix it? It's quite annoying!

Thanks!

I note that the release notes for 102.5.0 state "After upgrading to Thunderbird 102.5.0, a one-time full resync of cached Google Calendars (using CalDAV) will trigger." Is this related?

Edited to add: Thunderbird is still receiving emails from my Gmail account successfully. Also, if I click "Cancel" the request goes away, but comes back again a few minutes later.

Okay, looking under Tools -> Synchronization Settings (TbSync) I see that the status is one of the following:
  • Could not authenticate, check username and password
  • Prompting for credentials
But as I say, entering the correct password still seems to fail authentication.

There is an event log, with the following entry:
URL:
https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/d... (PROPFIND)

Request:
<dtongue outropfind xmlnsbiggrin="DAV:" xmlns:card="urn:ietftongue outarams:xml:ns:carddav" xmlns:cs="http://calendarserver.org/ns/"><dtongue outrop><card:addressbook-home-set /><d:group-membership /></dtongue outrop></dtongue outropfind>

Response:
{
"error": {
"code": 401,
"message": "Invalid Credentials",
"status": "UNAUTHENTICATED"
}
}

I note that there is a box to change the synchronisation period in minutes. Changing this from "10" to "120" is tempting, but I'm not sure of the implications, and in any case the change doesn't survive restarting Thunderbird.

Any ideas?
