Data speed cap on payg sim!

My son needed internet in a flat he’s living in temporary, so the easiest option looked like unlimited sim for his mobile.
He got one with Asda mobile, not thinking the speed would be capped.
He was having problems so I told him to run a speed check.
When it came back as 1.4mbps he check with Asda as to why (Vodafone network)
The answer came back, on an unlimited sim the data is capped at 2 mbps!

Thankfully it’s a cancel anytime.

Sounds about right. If you get Vodafone contract unlimited it gives "fastest speed available" which can be about as fast as 2g on a slow day at my place.
