Kindle Paperwhite problems

I’ve had Kindles since they first came out and am now on my 4th, a 10th generation Paperwhite Unfortunately it is now beset with the apparently common problem of ghost or phantom touches, which renders it pretty much unusable. Very disappointing, given that it’s only 3 years old and Google isn’t throwing up any fixes that I haven’t already tried.
Has anyone on here encountered this issue and managed to find a fix?
Such is my fondness for them that I’m considering ordering a new one, but this experience is putting me off. I don’t know if this issue has been resolved by Amazon and latest devices only come with a 12months warranty that can’t be extended
