Evening all, I am looking to reduce the paperwork I produce for my business. One of the main areas is with the paper job sheets I produce. It is a very simple on page affair, detailing customer contact details, work required, price quoted and then a few tick boxes. Whilst the paper one works, I would like to use a bespoke online version that I can create and modify myself. It would also be good to have a master form that is filled in and then saved as a copy with the customer name. I use the Google products such as Gmail, Calendar, Sheets. I have been looking at Google Forms but can't quite see it will do what I need. I expect that this is all very easy but I am slightly baffled!

I don't use myself but colleagues who do use and create forms like it.

Depending on the size of the company if you have a ms 365 subscription you might find that one note allows you to create templates that work.

Also Evernote is a posabliity .

That's all possible using Google Forms with a few added plugins.

Happy to have a look and throw together a demo example if you'd like?

If you're in the Microsoft ecosystem you would do this with a Power App that writes data out to a location that Power BI can pick it up to show you what's going on and Power Automate can pick it up to automate all the admin around your work.

Forms might be a basic substitute for Power Apps depending on the data you're collecting, but I think you'd be a long way down the list of options before you got to One Note.

We use FastField. Forms are easily edited/created and can be emailed to anyone on the company and automatically stored in a specified folder.
Also allows you to add photos to required sections and add GPS coordinates.

That would be awesome. I expect it is incredibly easy but I am not quite in tune with it!

Many thanks for the input and replies. I am a sole trader but have 4 sub contractors who work for me, so not massive at all. Ideally I would like to be able to integrate said form with Google Docs.

No worries.

Hit me up with a message on here and we can exchange email addresses. Send me an example/draft of the final completed job sheet you'd like to accomplish and I'll knock a sample up on G Forms with a script to save each entry to it's own unique document/job sheet.

Once you have the sample I'll explain how to tweak/modify, create from scratch etc
Once you see it once or twice you'll pick up how to set similar up again from scratch if you ever had to.

Just tried to send you a message on here but it says I am not allowed to. Something about bouncing messages about.

Hmmm... I just tried to message you and also had an error message.

Do you have a public facing email you use for business queries you don't mind sharing?
I don't want to display a personal email address. wink
