I'm not sure if this is the place to ask about this, but searching Google and Amazon doesn't give me the answer.
Playing Amazon music through my Samsung phone linked to my car infotainment worked reasonably well (depending on a signal!) until recently, when one day I noticed the dark blue Amazon icon had become light blue. I assumed there had been an automatic update as I hadn't adjusted anything. Previous to this I could see my playlists on my infotainment screen and could play ALL of my music on shuffle. Now, I can't reach ANY of my playlists or shuffle my songs. I get rows of 'recommended' stuff that I don't want. The only music of mine reachable is a recently played icon, which means all I can do is listen to the exact same stuff time and time again! It's really frustrating, especially as I'm paying for Prime too. Any clues? I deleted the cache and looked through all the settings.

Sorry I can't help but have exactly the same thing you described. Made it pretty much unusable unless you want to listen to what you've just listened to or what Amazon think you should be listening to!?

I hope they fix on the next update.

There's a big thread on Reddit about it.
Since the new update I can't listen to my downloaded music unless I stream via Bluetooth. Essentially Amazon music on Android Auto is a complete disaster.

Do you pay for the unlimited subscription?

If not the free (Inc. in prime) account has been changed. You can't listen to your own lists or albums without them slotting in what they think you might want (which most of the time you really don't).

How very disappointing. It's something we've seen time and time again with big business just getting too greedy. In the end Amazon Music will just push people away. Very sad, especially as people like myself now rely on a single source of streamed music.
I'm not convinced the new business model is causing the current problem I'm having though as Amazon on my phone is working fine, it's just not replicated in the car.

That is very odd then. Is it through android auto you are using it?

Can't say I'm a fan of the changes, if you want to listen to a particular track then it's OK, but any enjoyment of an album is gone. If I don't know what I want to listen to then their suggestions are OK, but that's rare.

Correct, it's the Android Auto experience that's unusable and dare I say dangerous if you're trying to find music as you're driving. The app experience is fine, I can play downloaded music without issue (apart from random/shuffle is not random whatsoever).

I've got the full subscription, HD/family etc and the app works as it did on the phone but connect to Android Auto your just get the recommendations and recently played. It's the same on the different hardware I've tried (VW/Range Rover/Alpine) in car systems.

This is interesting, as Andoid Auto had been fine until the Amazon update. So what are we in need of now? Android Auto update? Car infotainment update? Another Amazon update? Samsung update? EE update? These things do my head in!
