Wildlife camera advice
Discussion
I'm looking to buy my father a wildlife camera for Christmas - one that he can set up in the garden, or out in the fields, that will trigger and record when something is there. Not got a clue on costs but budget-wise I'm thinking £150ish.
The simpler the better.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
We bought a cheap one a few years back for about £50 so the photo quality isn't brilliant.
It works OK picking up cats, people etc, ie big and slow, but is useless with fast moving things. We had a wren nesting in the back wall and all we ended up with was a lot of pictures of the end of its tail going into the nest!
As they are triggered by movement most of the pictures ended up being triggered by plants blowing in the wind.
Thinking about it I might go nail it to a tree in the woods and see if it picks up a fox, deer, poacher or something more interesting.
