Apologies first if this is not the correct forum.
My BT TV contract is up at the end of this month and while I am keeping my broadband with them I wil be cancelling the BT TV.
What I want to know is can I keep the Youview box and still use it to record TV programmes.
Can I just leave it connected as it is to my smart tv except for disconnecting the cable that runs from the hub to the Youview box ?
Will I still be able to see the programme guide and be able to series record programmes as I do now or is this not possible and I would have to buy a new tv recorder ?

When did you have your box? If after Dec 2019 then it's "on loan" and they will want it back or charge you for it! They will probably ask you for it back anyway. But yes it will still work and record etc.
Yep! Also note that the box will update it's EPG so it all looks different to when you were on BT. They didn't ask for the box back but did ask for the router. Mine was replaced in contract after 2019 but because I was with them prior to that they didn't ask for it back. TBH if they did I'd just keep a Humax box from Currys.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
