for one reason or another, i have to start writing a daily journal - ideally I need to be able to write via a browser on my mac and an app on my iphone

Also need to be able to add images and downloaded documents

As simple as possible - any ideas

Evernote free version works for me, but there’s other similar web based offerings.

Notion seems to be gaining traction, and has some pretty nifty features.

If you happen to be paying for office then use onenote.

I stopped using evernote and swapped to onenote some time ago and it's a lot better and more capable.

just an update - been trying evernote (again) and now Notion - happy to pay for the right app

Notion is great - really simple but there is no way to annotate pdf's - which is a small pita . . . any others?

These are my most important things . . .

1 - must be simple stupid
2 - mac and iPhone enabled
3 - must be able to import and annotate pdf's as well as other docs
4 - must be able to reorder pages as I want

My use is mainly as an everyday journal - adding downloaded material as well as writing my own drivel PLUS - must be able to add my own writing up of notes and homework etc

(mature student type stuff) although many would disagree lol

thanks to everyone - I have embraced Evernote and it seems perfect for what I need . . .

notes
journal
adding & annotating pdf
adding photos etc
web & app based on all my devices too

Simple enough - once you get used to the interface

Thanks once again - ps - after using it for 10 mins - Evernote sent me a 50% off code so I signed up for a year for £33 :-) nice!

Try Notion too. www.notion.so
The free tier should suffice, Apps for mobile, web or Apps for Mac and Windows.

Thanks

A bit late for you as you're sorted now but for anyone else, I would also suggest Journey - https://journey.cloud/

Cloud syncs across desktop program, web version, android and ios. Only thing that's kept me writing a diary. You can tag with keywords etc, add photos etc. Worth a look for anyone looking for similar.
