Following on from which 4G router to buy, I plumped for the B535-333.

It came today, and I just can't connect to the internet! 2 hours of fiddling and no success.

I'm using a Talkmobile sim, which I was using earlier today with a TPLink 7350 mifi router and with no issues.

Its connecting to both an iPhone and Laptop via Wifi OK, but no internet.

I have changed the APN via the iPhone app and windows web browser to the following settings (as previously used on the TPLink 7350 and suggested on the web) -

Profile - Talkmobile
APN - talkmobile.co.uk
User - left blank
Password - left blank

All the lights on the router are white [network / Power / Signal strength 3 bars]

Am I missing something obvious?

Looks like you need some more settings:

That mentions a username and password on some devices.

I'd love to know what it is!! I've tried the wap / wap combo, no joy.

Annoyingly the sim card works on my other device with what seems exactly the same settings.

I'm hoping there is someone on here that has either this or the B525 that can maybe throw some light on it, otherwise it's going back to Amazon and I'll the TP Link router I was toying with getting.

I have similar issues with a Huawei dongle in my car ( for dashcam connectivity). It all lights up but says it has a signal, but no internet. I too am on a Talk mobile sim. I might try an old mobile phone to see if that makes a difference.

It could be one of those strange compatibility issues.

I have 3 mobiles on Talkmobile and a mifi router alll using the same APN settings. No problems. The Huawei just won’t play.

I have the TP Link equivalent 4G router coming later today from Amazon. Interesting to see if that works OK.

So, just to help anyone else who has a similar issue.

The new 4G TP-Link MR600 router that was to replace the Huawei B535-333 came. Popped in the Talkmobile sim and it pretty much set itself up. All done in approx 10 mins from start to finish.

Just out of curiosity, I copied the APN and other settings across to the Huawei router, but it still wouldn't connect.

So, either there is an incompatibility between Talkmobile and Huawei mobile routers, or mine was broken.

Regardless I was very impressed with the 'plug and play' set up of the TP Link MR600.

Aware this has been a significantly long time but i found this thread when i was having problems doing the same thing.

I did fix it though so thought i'd add a reply for anyone else who needs it.

I was in the same situation as above, everything looked green on the huawei setup page but still no connection

So i decided to take the sim card out and put it in my phone, this triggered the talkmobile set up, i also noted the phone number of the sim and used it to log into the talkmobile account associated with it for good measure.

As soon as i took the sim out of my phone and put it back into the router everything jumped into life

Hope it helps
