Can I make a clock out of part of this?

Looking to start a project here, just got myself this thing, and want to make it a clock from one of the sections or something anyway!
It’s an old swimming timer, but I’m hoping I can get maybe a raspberry pi hooked up into the board.
What’s the chances!?

Seems entirely doable. First thing would be to determine what sort of input/signal makes the segments toggle.
