I need a new laptop...
Discussion
...but specs are like another language to me so I need some help.
My current laptop is a hand-me-down Lenovo something which is from 2015 and it's starting to struggle with some tasks. The think I like is it's pretty thin, has a backlit 104 key keyboard and is widescreen.
Most of the time I use it for very basic stuff like Word and Excel which any laptop can cope with but I'd like something which can support Steam gaming and would also like to brush up on my CAD skills again so could do with something which will comfortably run Fusion360.
I can get good prices on Dell stuff from a family member but I'm not against paying more for another brand if it will suit my needs better.
Budget is £750 (or slightly more for Dell because of the discount).

The system requirements for Fusion 630 are quite modest -

Dedicated gaming laptops tend to be much higher spec than that. Higher prices too, of course.
I would start by checking out the gaming laptops at the outlet sites -

https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/offer.aspx?p=c-hp-ou...
https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/sale/clearance/
There isn't much to choose between the major box shippers (Dell, HP, Lenovo) so your discount might swing it.
ETA - with your budget it looks like specs would be in the i5 / 16GB / 512GB / RTX3050 sort of range
