EE signal booster, anyone use them?
Discussion
I’ve just moved to a part of Somerset where the internet speeds offered by BT and EE are only 3mg yet they offer there 4g modem with speeds of up to 30mg. Tried last night to use the hotspot on my iPhone to connect with the firestick and it was slow very slow,( I watched tv this way in Cornwall for 2 years with no problems) hence asking about the signal booster’s you can get. Anyone recommend me one? I see the prices vary hugely from £50-£1500! So looking around the £200 mark. I’be even looked at Musks starlink!
There's very few mobile boosters that are legal for use in the UK and they tend to be very expensive.
If you can get a decent 4g signal outside then you would be better getting a 4g mast and 4g modem and using these.
There's a thread here with plenty to digest

Have you tried complaining to EE ?
I had EE mobile about 5 years ago and signal in my home was suddenly absolutely rubbish
Rang EE to complain and was asked for my postcode etc
Ah the nearest mast to you is down for maintenance I was told it will be back on line in 2 days
I asked what mast it was he gave me the name of it which was a local farm name
Oh is that the one we disconnected the electric supply to last week at EE's request ( I used to work for utilty company )
Ahh you are correct , how about I send you a booster for free ?
Yes please I replied and the signal did improve at home
May be worth a try complaining to EE ?

£500 to £800 plus the cost of routing and making good the cable…..saying that it is cheaper than replacing my phone after I smashed it up in frustration. Why oh god did they stop supporting the Femtocell - which worked brilliantly.
