So I have an old widescreen CRT kicking about, was used for retro games but the kids are past that now. Beyond the tip, is there anywhere to get rid of these? Offered it for free on Facebook and no takers.

Surprised you've had nobody interested. I put an old portable CRT TV on there and had quite a few people want it to run old computers/consoles on.

Yeah, I was too. I suspect people are hunting out Sonys.

Recycling firms want you to pay them so the tip is the best bet if a local collector doesn't want it.

Apart from taking up lots of space and not actually working as a telly any more.

A few Sony Trinitrons seem to get very good money on ebay though.
You could try listing it there as 'retro gaming monitor'

My perfect Sony HQ100 went in the skip! It weighed a ton, took two people to lift the bloody thing! Thank god for flat screen.
