Good afternoon all

I've just become out of contract with my broadband provider BT ( unsure whether that's a good or bad thing at the moment ) but non-the-less, I was wondering if any members have landed a decent deal lately?

My current package is BT's Fibre 1 which gives me about 70Mbps and paying this month £38 from £32, evidently because it's now unsubsidised as I', out of contract.

They have offered me the same for £24 but the sticky point its for a 2 year contract.

Look forward to anyone's recent experiences in the battlefield of Broadband suppliers

Cheers

Anyone who’ll give you FTTP, if available.

Virgin 200mbps, £24 a month for 18 months. Better deals probably available, but i’m happy with that.

I'm pretty happy with Virgin too. You just have to remember to hassle them (ie threaten to cancel) at the end of any contract period, before they bump the price up.

This. As a VFM proposition it's unbeatable really.

I was paying £28/mo for 45Mb down, 19Mb up FTTC on Plusnet - now paying £40/mo for 900 down, 900 up on Zen via CityFibre.

I am in the same boat and switching to Now Broadband Superfibre (63 mb) at £22 for 12 months minus £68 cashback which works out at just over £16/month over the term.

https://www.idnet.com/ here - mainly as min contract is 1month so when toob finally get round to installing in my neighbourhood I can jump ship. IDNet have been great, easy migration to them and rock solid service since. Static IP too. Not the cheapest however.

I was glad to see the back of Virgin Media after nearly twenty years. Got sick & tired of the end of contract haggle.
Switched to Three 5G Broadband & never been happier, £21 per month with half price for six months on a two year contract. Amazing speeds up & down, even take the router on holiday too.

Not for everyone I know, a decent 5G or 4G signal is a must & can sometimes lag for a fraction of a second so no good for the online gamers but in my situation is perfect for my needs.

The prices are good but how good are they I wonder?

I loved IDNet for the 6 years I was with them but sadly I had to move to virgin last year as ultimately my phone line couldn’t deliver fast enough speeds

Virgin has far exceeded my expectations, which were limbo-dancer low

My kids and another relative used that very service in their respective homes and are quite happy with it. Sample of 3 mind you!!

Virgin were good but I got utterly fed up with end of contract messing around (and told them)

Now on FFTP where they (Openreach/BT) had to wire a new overhead cable to the house and put the ONT where I wanted it (not just in the easiest place)

Plusnet, IDNet and Zen are the recognised leaders in this area. Others are just below that and a few are well below that.

If I were you I'd choose one of the above and look at Quidco to see what kind of cash back deals are around for them.

I did exactly this, because Plusnet didn't (and had no plans to) offer FTTP. They'd have been on Openreach anyway and after the last straw with our FTTC line when I noticed Zen were offering Cityfibre in my area I couldn't sign up fast enough.

I was originally going to go with Virgin on grounds of lower cost than Zen and got most of the way through the forms on their website and then noticed that they had a 50GB/month download cap. There's no way that was going to sustain my wife and kids' Netflix habits so binned that and went for Zen. Had no issues whatsoever with them since I switched.

I'm with Talk Talk who give you 150Mbs/s for £32 a month.
Mine includes a landline though (long time customer) but I think their current offers exclude it.

Another vote for FTTP via Zen, they aren't the cheapest, but they are good to deal with.
