I usually use my laptop to connect to our products, via ethernet, when out in the field, but taking a nice Windows laptop to car parks is a bit unnecessary, I think.

I have seen a bluetooth ethernet adapter below which means I could connect it to my phone via bluetooth and then I can plug it into our equipment but I think it needs a power supply. If it gets it from the ethernet connection it would surely keep dropping out each time I unplugged it?

Looks like it needs 5v from the USB connection.

You could always plug it into a USB battery pack.

Also it isn't Bluetooth.

It does take power from USB, but that's a WiFi -> Ethernet bridge. Nothing to do with Bluetooth.

Hmm ok, thanks guys.

So I need one that plugs into my phone and has an ethernet connection on the other end. That way my phone can power it?

you could potentially use what you have posted but not via bluetooth via wifi.

power the wifi product above using a USB powerbank, attach it the ethernet device you want to connect to using the ethernet cable, then from your phone connect to the wifi ssid the product creates.

Thats the theory, in practice these things can be very hit or miss, it will either work perfectly or not at all.

You can get USB-C and USB-micro adaptors to ethernet.
I believe Android will 'see' the internet over one of these.

Whether Android will talk to the OP's proprietary kit I don't know.

I've seen tablets connected to ethernet this way for retail purposes.
