Is there such a thing? It would be nice if I the fade speed could be adjustable, but not vital....

You could do this with a smart bulb and home assistant easily. Not sure if smart bulbs apps such as Philips hue will do it or not. My led strip in my office does it, fades in and out when motion is detected / not detected.
