How do I do it?
I assume apps are meant to update automatically, but my Wunda Smart app (for my heating and hot water) is quite a few versions behind what it says is the latest on the AppStore.
I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it but it just reinstalls my previous old version.
Doesn’t seem to have an update option within the app either.

Apple or Android? Or something else?

What device do you have and what version of the OS do you have? Could it be outdated and thus not support the most recent versions of the app?

Apple, iPhone X.

iOS 15.6.1 currently. Looks like there is 15.7 I can download. Will give that a go.

Check that you have automatic app updates turned on:

Settings >> App Store >> App Updates

In app store press on person symbol top right and available app updates should be there if you scroll down

Hmmmm, just checked and the one I want isn’t on the list.
So I don’t have the latest version but it isn’t on the list to update. Balls.

Have they released a new app rather than updating the one you have? Search on the App Store. Get if has a “get” on it then you don’t have it installed.

My app store also says 1.1.21. Where are you seeing the old version number? It’s not unheard of for developers to forget to update everywhere that says the version number in the app.

Is that the device rather than the app? Go to the menu > contact support > help and below the 3 blue buttons there’s an address and below that the build number which matches the app number on the App Store.

Yes. That shows you have the most up to date app.

Isn't that the software on the device itself - hence "hardware"?

Oh right! So what’s the “software version” lying to me for saying the older version?

Oh I see what you mean, so that’s talking about my IOS version rather than the app itself?

I'm assuming it's talking about whatever physical object Wunda is connecting to.

E.G. I have a smart plug, I have the smart plug app on my phone. The smart plug itself also has software (it's operating system), and I can see it's software version from inside their app on my phone.

Yes this. So what’s it connected to?

Oh ok that makes sense. It’s connected to quite a few smart hub type things
