Virgin media/phone problem

My missus has just landed in Turin (sent a text message), so I tried to call her and got the following message - "We've locked your voice mailbox after 3 incorrect PIN attempts. Please try again later, or reset your PIN by calling customer services."

I have never set a PIN number on this phone, so what is going on?

Its the PIN for voicemail not the phone so it's possible it is on a default value or you set it on a previous handset.

Voicemail PINs became common to be set by default at one time due to people just randonly dialling voicemail boxes and listening to peoples voicemail.

I have never set a voicemail PIN on any of my phones. Fortunately I was able to hone her an hour after arrival. This is my first smartphone and it is sometimes proving too smart for me.
