My laptop has been like this for at least three hours

It won't restart itself and I can't restart it. The power button won't respond, neither will any of the keys. The battery isn't removable. Is my only alternative to unplug it, and wait for the battery to run out?

Unplug everything from the laptop and hold the power button down for way longer than you'd think necessary (like, 30 seconds or more) ?

It might have a reset button underneath you can press with a paper clip:

Does the battery unclip from the bottom? Or is it an integrated one that needs the baseplate removing?

If it's the former, remove the mains and pull the battery. The later, you could unscrew and disconnect the battery or remove the mains and wait for the battery to go flat...

I'm going away for a few days, so I'm just going to let the battery go flat.
