External Hard Drive not showing up

Evening all

Not a long post this, I've been using a HDD connected to the PS4 for extra memory to make GT7 playable. All has been working fine, the console was last used on Saturday. I've come to it tonight and from nowhere the HDD is suddenly not showing up.

I've tried connecting it to the laptop also, the light has stayed solid for about 10 minutes, HDD is making a noise of sorts but still nothing is showing up. After the 10 minutes the light has started flashing again how it does when it's working as normal but still isn't appearing as a device on the laptop.

Is there a chance it's just a dodgy cable or has it died the most annoying death ever and lost all my GT progress with it?

If you plug it into the laptop [assuming it's running Windows] launch Disk Management and throw a screenshot up here we can take a glance.




I'd remove the hard drive from the casket and try with one of these;
