Hi

Would someone be kind enough to recommend simple wired in ear headphones - say less than £20 - that are effective at background noise reduction for telephone calls?

I always lose the darn things and just wondered if anyone has positive feedback from one of the myriad options.

I keep misfiring with simple ones that are fine for music but clearly the microphone is picking up way too much background noise for a telephone counterparty

Thanks

What environment are they being used in? At home or out and about on a street?

If calls using a headset and mic are regular then why not spend a bit more and get something with a noise cancelling mic?

out in street compliant is the idea

I don't mind more but I don't need wireless buds - or at least I'm not proepared to pay 200 quid + for apple airpods (which are clearly amazing)!

And I'm presuming you want a 3.5mm audio jack and not USB C or some other connection?

You have a few choices but that format of headphone is a dying breed among the premium manufacturers now, most are moving to wireless earbuds.

You can go for someting simple like these Sony ones:

Or if you want a noise cancelling microphone design and want to spend a little more then these logitech ones are an interesting option:

Good middle ground from a respected manufacturer:

Still plenty of choice if you move away from the "premium" brands to enthusiast, maybe not so much at the lowest budget end to be honest though.

If you're happy to pay a little bit more, Soundmagic are always a good choice - the E80 sounds more detailed and the cable is better IMHO.

the E11s have a longer housing so may be better for larger ears, the E80 are a little short but depends what tips you use, you get 7 different ones rather than 4 on the E11.

There's also the ES30C for £21 but unsure if they'll be as good.

Sony ones or sennheiser cx300 are a little bit more expensive. Both will be great and do a fairly good job at passively isolating sound.
