Whatsapp admin advice - number disconnected…

I set up a number of Whatsapp groups, one has over 80 members. My mobile number was unexpectedly disconnected before I could change it on my groups. I still appear as admin on the groups but with a number which no longer exists. I can no longer access the groups, although they still function for members. I had thought Whatsapp would make a random member an admin, but this hasn’t happened. Any ideas? Thanks

If he leaves the group, can non admin add his new number into the group?

he needs his number to leave the group. He might have gotten away with it if he pulled the SIM before WhatsApp saw a new number.....

Thanks, I agree that if I could leave the group it should work as a new admin will be appointed, but is there any way to leave the group if I’m the only admin and my number is disconnected and can’t be recovered…?

You can change your mobile number via Settings/Account. No idea if this requires the old sim or not.
